My name is Loli Isaac. I am 16 years old and a born-again believer. I grew up in Lokupoi with my family, who live as pastoralists. My father did not let me go to school because he believed that taking care of our cattle and sheep was more important. My father had not received Christ before he died, and I lived with the simple life of a pastoral family.
In 2022, that year brought great sorrow. Cattle raiders attacked our village, and they killed my father, took everything we had, I lost him before he ever knew the love of Christ. After his death, my mother and I had very little to live on. I spent many days in the bush, hunting wild animals to survive. Life was very hard, and I felt alone without my father.
Later, a kind man named Tr Jackson others called him Pastor came to our village. He preached to my mother and me, sharing the word of God with us. With his guidance, we chose to follow Christ even more deeply. Tr Jackson saw the spark in my heart and helped me start school. Even though I was already 13 years old and had never held a pen before, he encouraged me to learn. I began in Grade Three, and slowly, I learned to read and write. Every day was a new challenge, but I worked hard to catch up with my classmates.
With time and dedication, my life began to change. I learned many new things at school, and my hard work paid off. Last year, I became the best student in my class. I was given the great honor of being the headboy of my school, a role that made me proud and responsible. I now know the value of education and the strength that comes from faith.
I have a big dream for my future. I want to become a doctor so I can help others and bring healing to those in need. This dream gives me strength every day, even when I remember the hardships I faced in the bush and the loss of my father. I believe that with God’s help and the support of those who care for me, I can achieve anything.
My life journey has been full of ups and downs, but every experience has taught me something important. I trust in God and in the guidance of those like Tr Jackson, who have helped me find my path. I ask for your prayers and support as I continue my studies and work toward becoming a doctor. My story is one of loss, hope, and new beginnings, and I know that with faith, a better future is ahead.
