My name is Lomilo Lilly Joy. I am 17 years old, and in 2023, I completed my primary education. My journey has been one of faith, resilience, and perseverance, despite facing immense challenges.
I was born into a polygamous family, but my mother, who is a total orphan, was abandoned by my father and his relatives. This left us struggling to find stability. Life has not been easy, and as a girl, the obstacles have been even greater. However, through it all, I have learned to depend on God for everything.
I gave my life to Christ at a young age through the children’s church. It was there that I met Pastor Jackson Joshua, who is also my teacher. He saw potential in me and began sharing with me the goodness of God. His encouragement and guidance helped me grow in faith and in my studies.
In 2024, I sat for my Primary Leaving Examinations, and by God’s grace, I achieved a first grade. I was the best student in my entire sub-county. I could hardly believe it—I, a girl from a struggling background, had achieved something so remarkable! But even as I celebrated, a new challenge lay ahead.
Right now, I am in my village, waiting and trusting God for a way to continue my education. Teacher Jackson has told me that there are no funds to support my secondary schooling, but I know that God is faithful. I believe that He has a plan for my life and that He will open doors for me to continue my education and pursue my dreams.
I share my story not as one who has reached the destination but as one who is still on the journey. If you are reading this, I ask for your prayers and support. I trust that God will use kind-hearted people to help me achieve my dream of continuing my education and one day giving back to my community.
